Friday · Welcome
Welcome Reception
A welcome reception hosted by the bride and groom. One last toast as fiancés before saying “I do” — if you are in London on Friday, come and say hello ahead of the main event. This is a great opportunity to meet other guests and connect with the group. An early bedtime will ensure everyone gets a full eight hours.
Saturday · The Wedding
Guests Arrive
Please aim to arrive at Old Marylebone Town Hall by 9:30 and be seated. The entrance is on Marylebone Road, and we will point you to the right room.
The Ceremony
The civil ceremony begins promptly at ten o’clock. We are in the Westminster Room, and the registrar starts promptly, so build in extra time.
Transportation Provided
In traditional London fashion, we will board a vintage, double-decker red bus for a short tour through the city on the way to our destination on the Thames, where champagne, cocktails and live jazz await. The jazz is an homage to Haifleigh’s connection to New Orleans. The bus will be waiting beneath the steps of Old Marylebone Town Hall. Follow the crowd.
Champagne Reception
A celebratory reception for all guests, hosted at Woods’ Quay immediately following the ceremony. Situated on the Thames with sweeping views of the London Eye and the Houses of Parliament, Woods’ Quay provides a modern, luxurious backdrop for an unforgettable experience. Lunch is served throughout, and there is plenty of it, so come hungry. Guests can seamlessly wander between the private lounge and the riverfront deck, martini glass in hand, taking in the Thames skyline. Three hours to rest, recharge, change, or wander Marylebone before the evening. See Things to Do if you would rather explore than nap.
Celebratory Dinner
Champagne and caviar bites to start the evening, followed by a sit-down dinner at Langan’s Brasserie in Mayfair, an iconic London institution with a reputation for sophisticated cuisine, stellar service and lavish parties. Co-founded by actor Michael Caine, Langan’s went on to become the celebrity hot spot of the 1980s, the same decade the bride and groom were born, frequented by Elizabeth Taylor, Marlon Brando, Jack Nicholson and Mick Jagger, to name a few. Dinner will be in the Mural Bar. The host will direct you when you arrive. Dress to impress carries through the evening.
Cake & Dancing
Descend the staircase to a private room downstairs, all dark green lacquer and brass, with its own discreet entrance on Stratton Street. Wedding cake first, then burn it off dancing to a live band and DJ. A final toast together, where nobody will judge your dancing. More champagne, loud music and laughing. The evening closes by midnight. Officially.*
Afters
* The best late nights are the ones nobody planned. Specifics to follow, if there end up being any. Think Fabric. Louder music, lasers, and whoever is still standing.
Good to Know
- Should I eat before the reception?
- No. A proper lunch is served at Woods’ Quay, with plenty to go round. Skip the big breakfast and arrive hungry.
- How many outfits do I need?
- Up to three. Semi-formal for the reception on Friday. Formal and black-tie adjacent for the civil ceremony. For dinner, formal — suit jacket for men, London chic for the women. If you would rather stay in what you wore to the ceremony, that can work too, and two outfits will get you through the weekend.
- Do I need to arrange transport after the ceremony?
- No. Transportation from the Town Hall to the champagne reception is provided.
- Can I take photos during the ceremony?
- We’d love you to be fully present. Our photographer Jade will capture the ceremony, and we’ll share everything afterward. Outside of the civil ceremony there are no rules, so feel free to snap photos as you’re inspired to do so. Jade will be with us for the entire day and evening, and all professional photos will be made available after the event.
- What if I’m running late?
- The registrar begins at 10:00 sharp and the room doors close just before. Please build in extra time. Marylebone Road traffic is real.
- Why are some times in brackets?
- Evening times are given in 24-hour format as well, so they match the clocks in your hotel and on the tube.
